PSAT Testing

The PSAT/NMSQT is a practice SAT test, which also serves as the qualifying assessment for the National Merit Scholarship Program. To qualify for recognition by the National Merit Scholarship Program, students must be in their third year of high school (junior year) and score in the top 3-5% of all testers.
The PSAT measures critical reading, math reasoning, and writing skills that are important for successful academic performance in college. The test take approximately 2.5 hours to complete and is structured in the same manner as the SAT.  The PSAT is recommended for students who are taking advanced or honors classes.
The format for the PSAT has changed this year and will now be a digital test. We will test students in small groups over multiple days.
The 2023 PSAT test is scheduled for October 25-26 and students will be able to select a preferred test date.  Registration is closed at this time.
The cost of the test is $20 and can be paid by cash or a check made payable to Oakville High School.
