Freshman

Grade level presentations will begin for 9th graders in late October.  Your counselor will meet with freshmen through their Social Studies class to discuss the four-year plan, career interests and opportunities students have while at OHS.  In preparation, parents are encouraged to begin ongoing discussions with their students about career preparations.  This can include using the Career and Course Planning Guide located on the website to map out future classes at OHS.  Click here for the link.

Your counselor will also explain Missouri Connections which is an option for help with College and Career searches.   Click here for more information.

Course Request Form

Oakville Middle School and Bernard Middle School students should turn their Course Request Forms into their science teachers by the assigned date.

Course changes

In April, all incoming 9th graders will receive a letter in the mail indicating their course selections for 9th grade.  If you would like to make changes to your original course selections, you should do so on this letter.  Just mark off the course(s) you no longer want, and write in your selections on the bottom of the page.  Parents should include their signature and return the letter to Chris Ventimiglia at OHS by the last day of the current school year.

Summer School

Summer school is available for incoming freshmen.   Students can take up to one credit.  Core area classes are only available in summer school on a recovery basis.  Summer school registration is online and available on the district website:   http://mehlvilleschooldistrict.com/summer_academy.   Current 8th grade students should use the "incoming freshmen" form.

Freshman Orientation

Freshman Orientation will take place during the first full week of August.  At orientation, 9th grade students will get their schedules, take their yearbook picture, meet upperclassmen and faculty members, and tour the building.
