Dear Senior Parent and Student,

It is hard to believe that your child is at the doorstep of the next stage of their life.  Wasn’t it just yesterday when the Class of 2019 was attending freshmen orientation wondering how they were going to survive the transition to high school?  Now, they are focusing on their future, setting goals, and making plans for a strong finish to their high school career.

We want your student’s senior year to be fun and memorable, yet at the same time, academic and behavioral expectations are high.  In “Our House” we view our seniors as leaders and look to them to set a positive example within our building.  As your child may remember, our underclassmen are influenced by the example set by our seniors.  Please encourage your senior to set the best example possible and remember that our younger students are looking up to them.

This year is going to go incredibly fast.  Please make sure that you and your student stay aware of all of the deadlines for applications and scholarships that may be of interest to them.  Mr. King, Dr. Gross, and I will be happy to assist you in your post high school planning.

There are a few upcoming dates to mark on your calendar:

  • August 15 – First Day of School – Wear your Senior Shirt!
  • August 23 Open House – 6 pm - We will have $5.00 Chick-Fil-A Meals (Sandwich, chips, and a drink) beginning at 5:30.
  • September 3– No School - Labor Day
  • September 11 - Financial Aid Night - 6:30 Library
  • September 19 - Collaborative College Fair - 6-7:30 at Meramec
  • September 24-28 - HOMECOMING WEEK

Please make note; the last day of school is scheduled for Wednesday, May 22 IF we have no snow days.  Please keep this in mind as you plan end of the year trips, as we do not allow students to take exams early.  In order to have grades submitted for graduation requirements, it is important that your students be present on the scheduled final exam days.  Graduation is scheduled for Sunday, June 2, 2019 at 1:30 pm at Chaifetz Arena.  The All Night Grad committee is working hard at planning a fun experience for your students and would welcome your help.  Please watch for meeting dates and times so you can help make the event a fun final evening for your students and their classmates.
