Seniors Class of 2019

Students and Parents,

Here we stand, a mere 16 days from graduation.  It is hard to believe it has gone by this fast, but please keep in mind, it isn't over yet.  We still have these 16 days until graduation.  Please help ensure your student finishes strong by making sure they continue to focus on academics, be in attendance, and continue to make good behavioral decisions.

As we approach the final push, I wanted to provide some final updates.

  • Baccalaureate Service is this Sunday, May 19th at 6:30 at Faith Lutheran Church, 6101 Telegraph Rd.
  • Final Exams are 5/23, 5/24, and 5/28.(Final Exam Schedule
  • Senior Breakfast and Slideshow will be Friday, May 31st.  Breakfast will begin at 9:00 am.  The Slideshow will begin at 9:45.  Tickets can be purchased for $10 from Mrs. Bauer in the main office through Wednesday, May 22nd.
  • Mandatory Graduation Practice will be Friday, May 31st beginning at 10:30.  This should be over by noon.
  • Graduation will be Sunday, June 2nd at 1:30 pm. at Chaifetz Arena
  • ADA Parking - if you have not already done so, please complete the form if you need ADA accessible parking by MONDAY, May 20th.

I also wanted to provide some Graduation FAQ's.

  • Dress Code:  Students should dress "business casual."  Gentlemen should wear dress pants, and collared shirts, and ties.  Ladies may wear a dress, dress pants, or a skirt with a nice blouse.  Students should arrive with gown and cap in hand.  This will make security checks easier.
  • NO CAP DECORATING:  OHS does not permit the decorating of graduation caps.  If students bring a decorated cap, they will not be permitted to wear it.
  • Arrival Time:  Students should arrive by 12:00 and enter through the VIP entrance (northwest side of the building if you are coming from the Compton/Laclede Garage). Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. for the ceremony.  Gates A, B and C will be open.
  • Purses/Bags:  It is advised for students to not carry a purse or bag in large part because of keeping these items secure during the ceremony.  Bags/purses would be kept in an area at Chaifetz that is not locked and secured.  We advise students to give purses/bags to parents to hold, or lock them in the trunks of cars.
  • Cell Phones:  Cell phones can remain with students, but need to be silenced and kept on them due to the previous bullet point.
  • Items not allowed in Chaifetz:  Chaifetz asked that we remind you that NO weapons of any kind (including pocket knives, no matter how small), blow horns, balloons, silly string or streamers allowed in the arena.

I am also including a parking map of Chaifetz as well as a Graduation Flyer.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
