Journalism II (Newspaper)

Eligibility Requirements:  Newspaper class is open to any students who have completed Journalism I (semester course).    


Time Commitment:  Meets every 4th block and have one work night each issue of the Prowl.  


Description:  In this class students learn media ethics, copywriting, layout, design and photography.  They produce the monthly newspaper, The Prowl.  Fundraising is done through the selling of ads for the paper.   Summer journalism camp is optional for those who are interested.


Membership Limit:  Limited to eligibility.


Yearbook

Eligibility Requirements:  Yearbook is open to students in grades 10, 11 and 12 and MUST pass English I.  


Time Commitment:  Meets 7th block – 1st semester, 2nd block – 2nd semester, plus have production nights each deadline.


Description:  In this class, students learn marketing, photography, copywriting, and layout & design using state-of-the-art software.  Fundraising is done through the selling of ads and yearbook sales. Summer journalism camp is optional and available to those who are interested.
