2019 Summer Program Opportuntities

The St. Louis Internship Program’s (SLIP) goal is to provide hope and opportunity for high school students in financial need through paid summer internships, intensive employability training, and year-round college and career planning, in partnership with businesses and community organizations, and to build the St. Louis community by developing motivated, well-trained, and talented future employees.

AG Discovery is a two week residential summer outreach program sponsored by different United States Department of Agriculture programs for middle and high school students in partnership wit selected universities.  Application deadline is March 15.

BEST Pharmacy Summer Institute


BESt Pharmacy Summer Institute is a collaboration between Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Express Scripts, Inc. and St. Louis College of Pharmacy.  The mission of the BESt Pharmacy Summer Institute is to expose and prepare local multicultural students for a future career in healthcare, with an emphasis in pharmacy.  Program runs from June 10 thru July 19.  Students should apply to the BESt Pharmacy Summer Institute by March 15th, 2019. Camp Cardiac - is a one week camp for high school students interested in exploring a career in medicine.   It's ran by local medical students.   June 24-28 8:30am to 4:00pm daily at Washington University School of Medicine.  Application deadline is  May 10.  Scholarship application deadline is April 15.  For more information or to apply visit

Camp Neuro - is a one week camp for high school students interested in exploring a career in medicine or psychology.   It's ran by local medical students.   June 17-21 8:30am to 4:00pm daily at Washington University School of Medicine.  Application deadline is  May 10.  Scholarship application deadline is April 15.  For more information or to apply visit  http://www.campneuro.org/

Cornell University -
Catalyst Academy - is a one week residential program (July 14-20) for rising high school juniors from underrepresented backgrounds who desire to learn about engineering.   Application deadline is March 1, 2019.

Curie Academy - is a one week residential program  for high school girls who excel in math and science.  The focus is on rising juniors and seniors who may not have had prior opportunities to explore engineering but want to learn more about it.

- Experiment in Architecture - Cost $1,725 which includes a 13-night stay at an Illinois Tech residence hall and meals and The Commons cafeteria.

Saint Xavier University is offering numerous camps and course experiences for area students interested in exploring various areas of interest this summer:



Penn Engineering is offering a unique program for rising 10th -12th grade students.  Their three-week Engineering Summer Academy combines sophisticated theory with hands-on practical experience in cutting-edge technologies.  Students can earn college credit in one of their six programs:  Biotechnology; Computer Graphics; Computer Science; Complex Networks; Nanotechnology or Robotics.  For more information, visit

University of Missouri Honors College is hosting the Cherng Global Leadership Academy.  It runs from June 16-June 25, 2019.  Participants in this 10-day residential program will explore what it means for them personally to be a leader and will be led through a series of activities, programs, workshops, and projects that will enhance their leadership traits and build their skills, while connecting them into a broad leadership network across numerous fields—from business to government, agriculture to education.   Deadline to apply is May 15, 2019

University of Missouri School of Medicine is offering an exciting and informative summer experience for current junior students interested in a career in medicine.  Applications will be available after January 1, 2019.  Application deadline is March 1, 2019
