Dear counselor,

Welcome to 2019! I hope you and your students are having an outstanding school year. We at Indiana University are well into the admissions process, and on track to welcome over 8,000 accomplished and diverse students as part of the freshman cohort again this fall.

As we begin this new semester, we wish to express our thanks for the work you do to support students throughout the college application and admissions processes. To support your conversations with students interested in IU, we wanted to share a few updates and important information.

Steps to enroll
Students admitted for the fall 2019 term received a large #IUsaidYes envelope in the mail, which included details about their next steps to becoming an enrolled student. Students can also review their next steps on our Steps to Enroll page for freshmen, and reserve their seat in the Class of 2023. As always, they can contact their personal admission counselor if they have specific questions.
IU housing updates
There are a number of exciting housing renovations happening on campus in preparation for your students. The recently constructed Union Street Center continues to impress with its ample natural light and furnished apartment-style living. And Read Hall, just steps from a number of great dining options, continues to be a popular location for new Hoosiers. Finally, students are encouraged to browse newly renovated campus living in WillkieBriscoe, and Forest.

The application for all campus housing goes live in early February. Students are encouraged to explore our wide range of housing options before the application opens, and contact Residential Programs and Services if they have any questions.
Planning a visit
Of course the best way for your students to see all that IU has to offer is to visit! Students can plan a custom visit any time at visit.indiana.edu. And if you’d like to bring a group of your own, we encourage you to get in touch with our office. Submit your request and our coordinators will be excited to assist you!
Red Carpet Days
We have a special visit opportunity for admitted seniors. At IU Bloomington, we roll out the red carpet each spring so admitted students can experience a day as a campus VIP. Red Carpet Days are held on select days throughout February, March, and April. Reservations are required, and spots fill up quickly! Encourage your admitted students to attend.
Regular decision deadline: February 1
For your seniors who are still considering options, there’s still time to apply for the Class of 2023! Students who submit a complete application for admission by February 1 will receive a response no later than March 15. Learn more.

Please know how much we appreciate your dedication to the future of your students. We hope these updates are helpful, but please reach out with any questions you or your students may have.

Sincerely,
