University of Nebraska - Lincoln

per email dated 10/22/2020

We want to reaffirm that Nebraska is test optional this year. We understand that access to college entrance exams has been difficult due to public health concerns. To support students, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln has eliminated the ACT or SAT from our admission and scholarships requirements.

Students who earn at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA will be assured admission to Nebraska, provided they meet core course requirements. You can see our full, updated admissions policy at

Additionally, we’d like to tell you about two upcoming virtual application events. Both events automatically qualify students for a $2,000 Emerging Leaders Scholarship, so your students won’t want to miss.

Next Steps to Nebraska is an application workshop created with students of color in mind. Students will apply to Nebraska if they have not already, learn more about on-campus diversity and inclusion programming, and get important information about scholarships and financial aid.

First Husker Workshop is designed to facilitate a smooth application process for first-generation college students. The event consists of an application walk-through with admissions staff, a scholarship and financial aid info presentation and information about resources that promote student success.

To save you time, you’ll find some important updates and essential info about upcoming deadlines and events below.
