Preparing for winter weather and the possibility of “snow days”

In the 2023-2024 school year, Mehlville School District can use up to five virtual learning days if our schools close due to snow or inclement weather. If more than five weather closures occur, we will use traditional snow days. Traditional snow days will be made up starting on May 30, 2024.

Oakville High teacher is a Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year

Rodney Gerdes, a social studies teacher at Oakville High School, has been named one of ten honorees for Missouri Regional Teacher of the Year for the St. Louis region. This distinction means that Gerdes is eligible to submit an application for Missouri State Teacher of the Year.

Board selects Dr. Jeff Haug as Mehlville School District’s next superintendent

In a unanimous vote on Friday evening, the Mehlville Board of Education has selected Dr. Jeff Haug as the district’s new superintendent beginning July 1, 2023. Dr. Haug will replace Dr. Gaines, who has been serving as superintendent for the past 8 years and will be retiring this summer.

Oakville High School aerospace engineering students took to the skies after designing and building gliders. Aerospace engineering is a Project Lead the Way course offered at Mehlville High School and Oakville High School.

New PE class allows students to adventure and explore new outdoor activities

Students in the new Adventure and Outdoor Pursuits class at have already had a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: canoeing on the Mississippi River. In addition to kayaking, students are going to learn and practice other outdoor activities like fishing, archery, rock climbing and hiking.

Oakville High girls water polo has championship hopes for historic first season

Missouri State High School Activities Association is hosting its first-ever all-girls water polo season, and the team at Oakville High School has their sights on winning the first state championship. Historically, girls have only been able to compete with boys as part of coed teams.
