According to the NCADA, substance abuse is the leading contributor to death and injury among young people. Since its beginning in 1965, one of the NCADA's major goals has been to teach young people the skills necessary to resist the temptation and pressures to use and abuse drugs.
Annually, the NCADA reaches out to over 100,000 people in attempt to educate about and prevent drug abuse.
On the website, The Library contains valuable information regarding drug, alcohol, and tobacco use. You can also sign up for The Key Newsletter, a quarterly publication which provides articles about the agency and information relevant to substance abuse.
