Leadership: Students, Teachers & Community

Students:

FCCLA – facilitates service projects within our school and school community to help those in need.

GSA – bring awareness and promote service opportunities for all students to promote a culture of acceptance in our school and in our community.

Key Club – facilitates and participates in service opportunities throughout school and the community by cooperating with the Kiwanis Club.

National Honor Society – facilitates and participates in service opportunities in school and in the community to promote student leadership of the academic membership.

Student Council – organizes and facilitates positive opportunities for student involvement in service opportunities to improve the school culture.

TREND -  promotes positive decision making for students in an effort to show respect for life in the face of drugs, alcohol, and social pressure.

 

Teachers:

Character Education Team – consists of teachers and administrators at Oakville High School who meet regularly to gauge the climate and culture of our school.  They provide meaningful character activities and maintain an awareness of the core values in every classroom in our school. 

Character Courses & Certification – certification opportunities are available for staff members to deepen their understanding of character education and to help broaden the efforts of relationship building and student success.

Professional Learning – teachers are provided professional development throughout the school year to maintain an understanding of character education and how to apply it in the daily routine of the classroom.  

 

Community:

Character Plus – provides character education for teachers and administrators to continually develop ways to provide for student’s academic, emotional and social needs.

Kiwanis Club – works with the Key Club at Oakville High School to organize service opportunities in the community and provide

Optimists Club -  works with multiple school clubs to provide service and learning opportunities for high school students in their communities.
